Grow Together, Succeed Together

McClung, Kali

Hello!

I am proud to be a 5th grade teacher. Teaching is more than a career to me—it is an opportunity to inspire students, build confidence, and help young learners discover what they are capable of achieving.

As a 5th grade teacher, I enjoy creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, challenged, and empowered to learn. I believe that every student has unique strengths and talents, and my goal is to help each child recognize those strengths while encouraging them to grow academically, socially, and personally.

I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and connected to the real world. Whether we are exploring science, solving challenging math problems, studying history, reading, or developing our writing skills, I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, collaborate with others, and explain their thinking.

One of my favorite parts of teaching 5th grade is watching students become more independent and confident learners. I encourage my students to take ownership of their learning, set goals, learn from mistakes, and celebrate their progress. I also believe strongly in developing student leaders and creating a classroom community where students understand that their choices, attitudes, and actions matter.

My classroom is a place where hard work, kindness, responsibility, curiosity, and perseverance are valued. I want my students to leave 5th grade with more than academic knowledge. I want them to leave knowing that they are capable, that their voice matters, and that they can make a positive difference in their classroom, school, and community.

I am excited to partner with families throughout the school year and look forward to making this a year filled with learning, growth, leadership, and memorable experiences!
